Dr Nayana Prematilaka

Nayana joined BSMC in 2010.
Originally from Sri Lanka, she graduated medicine in Russia in 2000.
Nayana started her career as an intern in Newcastle John Hunter hospital.
Soon after her internship she began work at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Northern Hospital.
She joined General Practice training in 2009 and worked in Churchill and Leongatha prior to joining BSMC upon completing her Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioner.
Nayana has a strong interest in women’s health, skin disease, children’s health, chronic disease and palliative care. Special training for palliative care was complete at Northern Hospital.
She speaks three languages (Sinhalese, Russian and English)
Outside of work, Nayana enjoys spending time with her family and her friends.
She enjoys playing cricket and going to the matches.
