Asthma and Smoking Cessation – Michelle Neal

Michelle grew up locally and studied nursing at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Having worked on a remote Aboriginal community, she developed a passion for Emergency Nursing.
She worked in Melbourne and then the USA for 10 years in Accident & Emergency.

After starting work in the treatment room, here at BSMC, she studied Asthma Education and Smoking Cessation and now runs the Respiratory Clinic.

Michelle cares for all age groups regarding their lung health. She writes care plans, performs lung functions, and offers advice and counselling regarding smoking cessation and respiratory health.
In her spare time Michelle gardens, rides horses/ bikes and is an avid reader.

Clinical Psychologist – Robyn Maddern

Dr Robyn Maddern (PhD) is a Clinical Psychologist who lives in the Macedon Ranges after 25 years of Psychology practice in Sydney.

Robyn specialises in:

  • Personality Disorders (Diagnosis and Treatment)
  • Grief, Trauma and Complex Trauma

Diabetes Nurse Educator – Wendy Sheperdley

Wendy was raised, educated and lived in the Macedon Ranges area most of her life and has done the same for her two children. She has been a Diabetes Educator since 2002 and thoroughly enjoys working in this area of health. Through this position, she has developed a strong interest in kidney health and aged care.

Other interests include providing diabetes education in aged care facilities to people living there and to staff caring for them.

Much can be done in this area of health care as it has people with diverse and complex needs and Wendy enjoys the challenge.

Psychologist – Kelly Cooper

Kelly is a registered psychologist and an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society. Kelly is a warm, empathic and flexible professional who is dedicated to working with clients in a meaningful way. She has experience working with a range of personal, interpersonal and clinical issues, such as anxiety and depressive disorders, sleep issues, substance abuse and family violence, as well as experience with cognitive assessments. Kelly utilises a primarily cognitive behaviour therapy framework and draws on client-centred, strength-based and acceptance and commitment therapy principles to help clients facilitate change and lead more fulfilling lives.

Outside of work, Kelly is an avid gardener, who loves baking, getting outdoors and travelling.

Psychologist – Bianca Reisman

Bianca is a registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
She values working with clients regarding many different issues, with all age groups, and with clients from a range of different cultural backgrounds. Bianca believes in a holistic approach to psychology and counselling for a wide range of personal, interpersonal, developmental, and clinical issues.

She draws primarily on psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy, using concepts of self -awareness and acceptance, personal empowerment, and personal meaning in life.

Outside work Bianca enjoys travelling to beautiful locations to be amongst nature. She also loves cooking up a storm, sometimes with ingredients from her own garden.

Bianca is currently on maternity leave, so will not be taking patients at this time.

Exercise Physiologist - Gina Mendoza

Gina Mendoza is a long-term resident of the Macedon Ranges. She has worked as a clinical Exercise Physiologist since 2007. Gina has also worked as a university lecturer in clinical exercise studies, training and supervising many master's graduate exercise physiology students.

Gina’s original training was in professional dance studies and dance teacher training at the Victorian College of the Arts. She then went on to a career in professional commercial music theatre performance for ten years. Gina’s path shifted towards science and studying exercise rehabilitation after working with an elite-level ballet student who had had post-injury back pain.

During Gina's extensive career in dance and exercise rehabilitation, she created a children's dance program concept, a boys' ballet program in country Victoria, and the first Sports-Barre training presented at the Victorian Institute of Sport at the Australian Innovations Festival in 2005.

Gina brings a mixture of the arts and science into her practice as a clinician. She is delighted to be the Clinical Exercise Physiologist at Brooke Street Medical Centre and splash her creativity into the classes at Brooke Street’s Movement Studio Hub. Please click here for a list of class times.

Osteopath - Dr Kyle Collins

Available at Brooke Street Medical Centre on Tuesdays.

Dr Kyle Collins completed his qualifications at Victoria University with a Bachelor of Science and a Masters in Health Science (Osteopathy).

Kyle is passionate and enthusiastic about helping his patients achieve their personal goals. He has a holistic approach to osteopathy, incorporating the caring nature of manual therapy, movement and rehabilitation to get you back to doing what you love. Kyle has substantial knowledge and experience with various musculoskeletal conditions and will provide you with a personalised treatment approach best suited to your individual needs.

The treatment is based on various hands-on osteopathic techniques, including trigger point release, soft tissue massage, stretching, mobilisation and manipulation. The therapy focuses on providing symptomatic relief while improving your overall range of motion and function. Kyle will explain your diagnosis and provide you with a personalised management plan.

Originally from the Macedon Ranges, Kyle has been involved with various sporting organisations, including the Riddell’s Creek Football Club and completing at a State Level for Basketball in Victoria. Kyle is enthusiastic about treating his patients and building rapport with all community members, from the mature age, athletes, office workers, weekend warriors, adolescents, and chronic pain sufferers.
